To the north of the town lies Fenwick Island State Park. This is a three mile stretch of white sandy beach and barrier island. There is a newly constructed modern bathhouse which offers changing rooms, showers, concessions and a gift shop. Swimming, fishing, surfing and sunbathing are popular activities at the state park. The park boasts one of the few designated surfing areas in Delaware and beach driving is allowed with the proper permit.

Guided kayak and stand up paddle board tours through the local salt marsh and national park are popular in Fenwick Island as well as sailboating and jet skiing.

Fenwick Island is also home to Viking Amusement Park and Thunder Lagoon Waterpark. Perfect for kids of all ages, these parks boast waterslides, go karts, and an 18 hole putt putt golf course. A perfect alternative to a day at the beach.
